The University Curatorship is responsible for all facets of artistic activity at the university: putting together new exhibitions, receiving artworks and expanding the collections across the university’s campuses, preservation and restoration of the existing collection, and providing advice and guidance on artistic projects.
We work within the university community and are pleased to cooperate with everyone within the institution, as well as with artists and cultural organizations outside the university, such as the Israel Museum, Jerusalem Municipality and the Jerusalem Artists’ House.
Under the framework of relations between academy and arts, we display permanent exhibitions and temporary exhibitions to accompany academic conferences (such as Social Mobility in Motion), or to highlight academic research done by the university’s researchers (such as Project Nano/Art).
We believe in the power of art to act as a bridge between the academic world and the general population. That is why we set up exhibitions outside the university’s grounds, such as cooperation with the Edmond & Lili Safra Centre for Brain Sciences, which led to the exhibition Braintoons.

In the Stern Little Gallery at Mt. Scopus Campus we display changing exhibitions based on the relations between academia and arts and on the heritage of The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
The exhibitions are established with the support of the university’s management.
University Curator, Michal Mor
Michal Mor has a master’s degree in the history of arts from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She started her career as a research assistant and author of educational art programs at the Haifa Museum. She then pursued writing and tutoring programs in art education in the youth wing of the Israel Museum in Jerusalem, and coordinated the program in art history at the Open University.
Her work as a curator began at the Israel Museum, where she brought together the exhibitions Sitting Low Looking Far, Windows and Secrets and Ties. Since 2011, she has been the art curator of The Hebrew University, during which she has overseen a range of exhibitions, including several featured on this website.

The Artifacts Committee
The work of The Hebrew University’s Curator is supervised by the Artifacts Committee. The Committee is authorized to accept donations for the university’s art collection (see details here).
